This weekend we had some friends over and we wanted to make something special. We made a three course dinner and served this Apple Granita as a courses between main and dessert as a palate clean. This also works well as a dessert on a hot day or after a heavy meal.
If you’ve never had Granita before, it is similar to a sorbet, but with a crystalized texture like shaved ice, and you can use what every fruit that is in season. The alcohol in the Apple Granita prohibits a hard freeze making a satisfying icy-slushy texture. The fact that it’s sophisticated, seasonal, and make-ahead means that it´s a perfect to serve to guests, and will guarantee to impress.
