Tomato Sauce
  1. Chop onion, celery and paprika and sauté with little olive oil in a frying pan.
  2. Add tomatoes, sugar and balsamic vinegar. Simmer without lid for about 30 minutes.
  3. Add mascarpone and chopped fresh basil (save some for garnish). Season with salt and pepper. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400 F).
Meatballs
  1. Grate the onion and mix together with beef, pork, salt, pepper, eggs, bread crumbs and parmesan until it´s combined. Roll into balls.
  2. In a frying pan and over a moderate heat add olive oil and sauté the meatballs until brown.
  3. Turn the meatballs into a gratin dish. Put the tomato sauce on top of the meatballs and finish with buffalo mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  4. Place in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until brown and crisp. Serve with spaghetti and garnished with a few basil leaves.
